A NEW ERA FOR ATHLETICS IN NORTH SOMERSET
This website is dedicated to the raising of funds to support the development of an all year round training facility for athletics in North Somerset.
FROM SMALL ACORNS...
We created an Athletics Training Group back in September 2004, when visits to local schools showed a definite interest and talent for our sport. We started with just 4 athletes training at Swiss Valley Sports Centre. We now work with over 350 athletes at North Somerset AC, catering for anyone wishing to enjoy Athletics (aged 8-16), and over 200 at North Somerset Athletics Academy, working with the area's elite (aged 10-16). NSAC and NSAA have grown not only in size, but also in stature to become one of the largest Junior Athletics Clubs in the UK.
Imagine what we could do if we were to have the right facilities, a permanent base in which to train in all year round, with high jump, long jump, sprinting track, throws area, and fitness area.
We are currently working on plans in partnership with Cathedral School and Firebrands Hockey Club for a community multi-sport facility based at the Cathedral School playing fields in Failand.
